Planned Power Outages on December 1

November 19, 2019

Electricity will be shut down to perform critical upgrades to the campus electrical distribution system from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, December 1, 2019. The following buildings will be affected (see highlighted yellow areas on the map):

  • Activity Center (AB)
  • Administration (AD)
  • Arts and Humanities Buildings (AH1 and AH2)
  • Edith O’Donnell Arts & Technology Building (ATC)
  • Lloyd V. Berkner Hall (BE)
  • Classroom Buildings (CB, CB1, CB2, and CB3)
  • North Engineering and Computer Science (ECSN)
  • South Engineering and Computer Science (ECSS)
  • Founders West Annex (FA)
  • Founders North (FN)
  • Founders Building (FO)
  • Cecil H. Green Hall (GR)
  • Cecil and Ida Green Center (GC)
  • Karl Hoblitzelle Hall (HH)
  • Naveen Jindal School of Management (JSOM)
  • Erik Jonsson Academic Center (JO)
  • North Office Building (NB)
  • North Lab (NL)
  • Machine Shop
  • Eugene McDermott Library (MC)
  • Parking Structure 3 (PS3)
  • Physics Building and Annex (PHY and PHA)
  • Science Learning Center (SLC)
  • Student Services Building and Addition (SSB and SSA)
  • Student Union (SU)
  • Theater (TH)
  • Visitor Center & University Bookstore (VCB)

For safety, no one will be allowed to enter the affected buildings during the outage.

Emergency power will be available at the usual locations.

Anyone with equipment in these buildings should take the necessary precautions to make sure it will not be affected during the shutdown. Please make sure that all computers and any sensitive equipment are turned off to prevent the loss of critical information.
