I am looking for motivated graduate students interested in control theory, optimization, and fluid mechanics. If you are interested in working with me, please see Prospective Students & Postdocs. About meI am currently an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas, Richardson, TX. I am also affiliated with the Center for Wind Energy at the University of Texas at Dallas. From 2017 to 2019, I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA. I obtained my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN, in 2016. Here is a short bio in third-person. ResearchI am broadly interested in the modeling, dynamics, and control of large-scale and distributed systems with a focus on applications in fluid mechanics and renewable energy generation. In my research, I use and improve on techniques from control theory and optimization for the stochastic modeling and control of complex dynamical systems such as turbulent fluid flows.
