Courses 2015:

Ergodic Theory

In the course we shall explain the basic notions and methods of the ergodic theory
and find out how they can be used for some toy-model examples
coming from the dynamical systems of different nature.

Basic models to be covered:
1. Symbolic dynamics
2. Number theory dynamical systems
3. Dynamical systems in probability theory
4. One-dimensional dynamics.Circle diffeomorphisms
5. Elements of two-dimensional dynamics. Aubry-Mather theory
6. Hyperbolic systems

Basic methods to be used:
1. Entropy theory
2. Spectral theory
3. Renorm-group method
