The physical chemistry component of the Doctor of Chemistry curriculum at
U.T. Dallas covers a development of thermodynamics from statistical mechanics
then introduces surface chemistry. Its syllabus
for the current semester (fall 1997) describes the structure of the course.
The course Topic Schedule is keyed to the texts,
Nash "Chem-Thermo: A Statistical Approach to Classical Chemical Thermodynamics"
(white pages) supplemented with the author's "Elements of Statistical Thermodynamics"
(pink pages), and Shaw's "Introduction to Colloid and Surface Chemistry."
As the Nash books are out-of-print, permission has been granted by the publisher
(Addison-Wesley) to reprint portions of them in a course pack.
The course pack is available from the Off-Campus Bookstore near the corner of
Campbell and Nantucket about 1/2 mile east of Floyd Road.
The address is 581 W. Campbell Road, Suite 101, and their phone is 907-8398.
The Shaw text is in print and is also available at the Off-Campus Bookstore.
Homework and
solutions for homework and quizzes are available

This semester's and sample exams and their
answers are just a few clicks away.
