The Distributed Systems Laboratory at the University of Texas at Dallas conducts research in distributed and networked systems. Our major areas of research are Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) and Efficient 360-degree Video Streaming. Work centers around the following problems.

1. Field-of-View (FoV) prediction for 360-degree Videos
2. Use of Immersive Augmented/Virtual Reality technology for cognitive health
3. Wireless channel allocation strategies
4. Characterization of bursty traffic
5. Medium Access Control
6. Link Level Communication
7. Adaptive routing protocols and
8. Transport layer issues

At the Distributed Systems Laboratory, we develop tools and conduct simulations to model the characteristics of the problems being dealt with, to suggest appropriate solutions and to analyze the effectiveness of those solutions.
