Of A Mysteriously Strange and Unusually Frightening Nature

Nicole Arendt will be displaying her chromogenic color photographs in an exhibition entitled, "Of A Mysteriously Strange and Unusually Frightening Nature."  This series of color photographs exudes an eerie and uncertain quality.  Within this foreboding environment the possibility arises that harm could be inflicted upon the subject at any given moment. Meanwhile, the subject's actions and intentions remain mysterious.  These scenes are dramatized through the photographer's use of vivid color and adoption of a narrative sequence. A reception for the artist will be held in the gallery from 4:00-6:00 pm on Saturday, January 29, 2000.  The photography exhibition will be on view from January 14 - February 4, 2000, in the Mezzanine Gallery of the Visual Arts Building on the University of Texas at Dallas campus.  Nicole Arendt is a graduating senior in the School of Arts and Humanities.
