Two Ph. D. Research Assistantship Openings (New!)

Prof. Yaoyu Li in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at University of Texas at Dallas is looking for motivated PhD students to fill two openings for PhD Research Assistantship, in the following areas:

1: Grid-interactive Efficient Building Energy System. Modern building energy systems feature intelligent integration and operation of HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) systems, renewable energy and energy storage.  Development of Grid-interactive Efficient Building (GEB) involves manipulation of building HVAC, renewables and storage for economically driven building-grid interactions such as demand response and ancillary services. The major research activities include modeling and controls of building energy systems for grid-interactive operations. The desirable candidate is expected to have good background in controls and thermo-fluid system background. Experience and background in HVAC systems will be a plus.

2: Controls and Optimization for Offshore Wind Energy Systems. The desirable candidate is expected to have good background in control system. Preference will be given to those with background and experience in wind energy, dynamics and fluid mechanics.

Those who are interested in these RA openings please email Prof. Yaoyu Li (yaoyu.li@utdallas.edu) with resume, copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts, TOEFL (or IELTS) and GRE scores, recent publications (if any).
