Welcome to the UTD Project Workshop!
The project workshop is an accessible, safe, and non-intimidating space, hosted by the mechanical engineering department
at the University of Texas at Dallas.
The workshop is located in ECSW 1.160. The vision for the project workshop is to provide a space for collaboration, design, and prototyping with a maker culture.
To facilitate sharing the space, storage of any raw materials or assemblies in the workshop is not allowed.
Engineering students are asked to create their designs and bill of materials, purchase their own raw materials (aluminum, wood, or plastic), bring the materials to the project workshop, make their parts and assemblies, and take everything with them at the end of each day.
There is no storage allowed in any of the rooms. Individuals can bring their parts, electronics, paint (for paint booth), and PPE to the rooms. They can work in the rooms. At the end of each work session they must take all their supplies with them. Only a painted item can be left to dry in the paint booth until it the next day, when they can pick it up. Nothing else can be left at the end of each work session. If you are not actively working, your supplies cannot be in the room because others may want to use the shared space.
All equipment and tables are clean and clear and the project workshop is inviting at all times.
Visitors can park in the adjacent parking garage (PS4) at the intersection of Franklyn Jenifer Drive and Drive H and walk the ECSW. The parking spots at the ground floor of the parking garage are "paid parking" by credit card.
