Vacuum Forming Project

The team designing and fabricating a vacuum forming machine was able to create their first vacuum formed part using a cardboard prototype of the machine. Even though the formed part has imperfections, it is used to demonstrate that the heater and the vacuum source selected work well together.

The team is using SolidWorks to model their machine. Their design work on the actual unit is progressing well.

The unit was tested (4/8/2022) and the output was excellent!

Since then, an LED light is added to indicate the power in on. An emergency stop is also added for safety. Power is shut off when the emergency stop is pushed.
