Applications are considered (pending availability of funds) for our graduate (MS) level CyberAI Scholarship for Service (SFS) scholarship program.
Apply by May 10, 2026 for Fall 2026 consideration.

Eligibility Requirements:

The program is open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents only.

Eligible degree programs: MS (including BS+MS fast track) in Computer Science in cybersecurity concentration track with a specific focus on the use of AI in cybersecurity (CyberAI). This means that the students will be required to take two AI classes and the CS 6301 AI and Cybersecurity class during their studies in the program. CyberAI SFS students will also be expected to engage in CyberAI research and experimental projects to gain hands on experience in CyberAI.

Minimum GPA requirement is 3.2/4.0.

For undergrad students, you must be either already admitted to the fast track program or should be eligible to join the fast track program for Fall 2026 start. For graduate students, you must be either admitted (or will be admitted) to MS in CS degree program for Fall 2026 start.

Students completing their BS degrees elsewhere can apply for supporting their two years MS in CS degree in cybersecurity concentration track at UT Dallas.

Scholarship durations:

  1. For MS students, for two year MS education.
  2. For BS+MS fast track students, up to six semesters (last six long semesters) of your BS+MS dual degree education.

Minimum duration in the program is three long semesters. We do not consider students who have less than three semesters to graduate with their MS degrees.

Please submit the following documents as your application material:

  1. Official transcripts from higher education institutions attended so far.
  2. Resume.
  3. Three reference letters presenting an evaluation of academic (or professional) performance and potential for pursuing a graduate degree. At least two letters should be from faculty members of academic institutions. Please ask your letter writers to directly e-mail their letters to Dr. Sarac at ksarac@utdallas.edu.
  4. A personal statement discussing your motivation for pursuing a graduate degree in computer science, your interest/commitment to cyberAI, and your motivation for working for the Government.
